To be fair, we still really don’t know how the sixth round 2019 Night net draft pick will develop over the coming weeks, but his first game stats gave way to some measured optimism: 22 of 25 for 275 yards and two TDs.  Following week 2’s loss to the Texans, which featured a few (to be expected) struggles such as key fumbles as a result of pressure by the stout Jags defense, the hype has waned some. But given the score was close (13-12 loss), it’s something for Night net bettors to hang their hat on.In fact, Doug Marrone’s decision to go for the 2-point conversion cost the Jags a tie and a crack at overtime at the very least, when Leonard Fournette was stopped at the goal-line. Who knows what might have happened had Marrone decided to play it safe instead?Inasmuch as the hype surrounding Minshew may have waned, so too the hype surrounding the Titans after they failed to consolidate their week 1 win over the Browns with a week 2 win over the Colts at home. Mariota, true to form, faltered in consecutive games.Appropriately, this game is up for grabs and value is to be had on both sides of the coin for your Night net picks. Would it be so surprising if the Jags eked out their first win of the season in this divisional clash?Key Night net Betting Trends:— Titans are 6-1 SU in last 7 games vs Jaguars— Titans are 5-1 ATS in last 6 games vs Jaguars— The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Jaguars’ last 6 games at home— The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Jaguars’ last 5 gamesKey Injuries:JAX — Nick Foles remains out with a broken collarboneTEN — No new injuries following week 2MORE: Follow the latest trends for Titans vs. JaguarsCincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills When: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 1 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: CBSOpening Spreads & Totals: Bills -5/ 42Season Record: Bengals (0-2-0) vs. Bills (2-0-0)Tough love for Andy Dalton and the Bengals in their season opener, as fans berated their team with a cacophony of boos in Week 2’s loss to the Niners. It wasn’t quite the homecoming Zac Taylor and the Bengals hoped for after giving Seattle a run for its money in Week 1. Dalton and the Bengals must be relieved to be hitting the road again in week 3, but the 2-0 SU Bills aren’t expected to be a cakewalk. Not only were the Bengals hit hard by injuries, but — to pour salt over their wounds — bookies seem to suggest things are set to go from bad to worse for the Bengals. That is, if the Night net odds are taken at face value.Do they have it right though? The Bills are 2-0 SU but with wins over the Jets and Giants, teams that are far from playoff calibre at the moment, it’s hardly something to get excited about. Is it? Granted winning begets confidence but neither win was straightforward. Perhaps, Night net bettors should take a conservative approach to this game. Take the wins and losses of both teams with a grain of salt. More importantly, Josh Allen and the Bills have someway to go before they can be trusted with an almost six-point spread. In Week 1, they just about squeaked the win over the Jets. Last week, the Giants’ defense proved to be a sieve.  Made it look almost too easy.Key Night net Betting Trends:— Bengals are 5-0 ATS in last their 5 games on the road— Bengals are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games— Bills are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games— Bills are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games Key Injuries:BUF — Singletary tweaked a hamstring in the fourth quarter. To put it in a few words: total mismatch. It’s not that the Dolphins are winless in two rounds of the 2019 Night net regular season, it’s the manner in which they lost that is causing such brouhaha. The Dolphins have conceded 102 points combined and countered with just 10 points scored. At this rate, bookies could potentially float a 50-point line and there’d be an argument against taking the points.Dak Prescott is playing like a man demanding to be paid his worth. He’s lifted the Cowboys to 2-0 SU in the NFC East at the expense of divisional foes, a crucial head-to-head record in the broad spectrum of the season and any playoff ambitions the Cowboys are entertaining. In Week 2, he shredded the Redskins defense in the air and on the ground, showing to all and sundry (including Jerry Jones) just how multidimensional he is. With both Fitzpatrick and Rosen throwing cupcakes in two weeks, this should be a straightforward affair for the Cowboys at the AT&T Stadium. Colour the world shocked if the Dolphins somehow keep this game close.Key Betting Trends:— The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Dolphins’ last 6 games vs Dallas— The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Dolphins’ last 9 games vs Dallas— The total has gone OVER in 5 of Cowboys’ last 5 games— Cowboys are 5-0 SU in last 5 games at homeKey Injuries:MIA — no new injuries notedDAL — DE Antwaun Woods left in the second quarter with a left knee injury; DE Tyrone Crawford played through a nagging hip injury; WR Tavon Austin was out with a concussion.MORE: Follow the latest trends for Dolphins vs. CowboysDenver Broncos vs. Green Bay PackersWhen: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 1 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: FoxOpening Spreads & Totals: Packers -9.5/ 43.5Season Record: Broncos (0-2-0) vs. Packers (2-0-0)A pair of first-year head coaches collide in this matchup, pitting their wits against each other. However, Matt LaFleur is enjoying a much better introduction to the job than Vic Fangio is currently. Denver Broncos take a 0-2 SU record to Lambeau, representing one of the most hostile environments in the Night net landscape. Just ask Kirk Cousins and the Vikings, who suffered their first defeat on the season in week 2 at the hallowed grounds at Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers got off to a flying start against the Vikings, and the defense held strong to secure the victory in the second half. The Broncos, meanwhile, lost to the Raiders on the road in week 1 and then the Bears at home in week 2. Both matches were a struggle on both sides of the ball. That the Packers look to be in fine form behind a 2-0 SU record only makes this a tough matchup for Joe Flacco and Company to pull off the upset. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are far from perfect yet, but they appear to be headed in the right direction.Key Night net Betting Trends: — The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Broncos' last 5 games on the road— The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Broncos' last 5 games— Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games at home against the Broncos— The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Packers' last 5 games at homeKey Injuries:GB — S Raven Greene suffered an ankle injury following the first play of the second half. According to bookmakers, Colts, who opened laying -3, are the likelier bet to extend their winning form. That has something to do with the Colts’ top 10 pass defense and how it’ll likely matchup against Matt Ryan and the Falcons’ offense. Jacoby Brissett clinching his first win as the starter in 2019 also underscores this favourable outlook.Still, the Colts will have their work cut out against the Falcons, namely Julio Jones, who is a nightmare to defend. On another note, have we seen the last game in Adam Vinatieri’s career? The 46-year old kicker had another rough night on the spot, misfiring something awful. It’s not the way any player wants to end his career, but sometimes it’s the way things go. The Falcons are coming off a sensational win over the Eagles, largely down to Julio Jones’s last-gasp touchdown that saved the Falcons from a nigh disastrous 0-2 SU start. The wide receiver is now the franchise’s all-time leader in receiving yards. Jones finished the day off with 105 receiving yards and 2 TDs on five receptions. In short, this game is a complete tossup and there is value on both sides of the coin. It’s probably why the Night net line is already shortening to Colts laying -2 with several sportsbooks. Following the Night net betting trend is one strategy that could pay dividends. Key Betting Trends:— Falcons are 4-1 SU in last 5 games— The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Falcons' last 10 games— Colts are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games at home— Colts are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs FalconsKey Injuries:ATL — Falcons rookie Kaleb McGary suffered a left knee injury.IND — Colts CB Pierre Desir hurt a knee in the third quarter and did not return.MORE: Follow the latest trends for Falcons vs. ColtsBaltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs When: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 1 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: CBSOpening Spreads & Totals: Chiefs -8/ 54Season Record: Ravens (2-0-0) vs. Chiefs (2-0-0)One of these two teams is sure to suffer its first defeat in the 2019 Night net regular season. Question is, which will it be?  According to oddsmakers, the Ravens have that dubious honour.Be that as it may, the Ravens have momentum coming into week 3 and they shouldn’t be underestimated. The lack of a truly quality win is the only blight against them in an otherwise stellar start for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Jackson is up there in the stats with 7 passing touchdowns over two weeks, one more than he passed in 2018 in his seven career starts.Of course, beating a shoddy Dolphins team and then a rebuilding Cardinals team hardly screams first-class. But let’s not take anything away from the Ravens, who are a well-coached team that thrive as underdogs. Of course, Patrick Mahomes is supernatural. Two weeks into the season as he trucking along with a verve and swagger that is unheard of for a quarterback of his age and limited experience. He’s what some might call a unicorn. That alone makes betting against the Chiefs risky, especially in straight up betting markets. However, the Ravens could just make a fist of it and give the Chiefs a run for their money, if not to win outright then to cover as the massive road underdogs. In short, the Ravens may be a touch underrated in Night net betting markets.Key Night net Betting Trends:— Ravens are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games on the road— Ravens are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games — Chiefs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games— Chiefs' are 4-1 SU & ATS in their last 5 gamesKey Injuries:KC — LT Eric Fisher re injured his groin that he hurt in practice on Friday. The Raiders lost at home to the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs while the Vikings were derailed by the Packers at Lambeau. Both games featured the respective quarterbacks tossing a couple of INTs.Derek Carr started off brightly but when Mahomes got going it seemed to rattle the Raiders’ starter. Meanwhile, Cousins lost the plot totally. Just as Zimmer extended the leash on his quarterback (in week 1 he was allowed just 10 passing attempts), he had three turnovers, including an interception late in the game that cost Minnesota dearly. The Raiders and Vikings represent an intriguing matchup between two sides with different complexions. The Raiders can win if they get at Cousins with a vengeance while the Vikings can win if they keep the ball out of Cousins hands and run it instead. What this game certainly doesn’t seem to warrant is a massive point spread in which the Vikings are laying more than a score. Put it this way, Can Cousins' be trusted with that many points?Key Night net Betting Trends:— The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Raiders' last 6 games— The total has gone OVER in 4 of Raiders' last 5 games vs Vikings on the road— The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Vikings' last 8 games— The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Vikings' last 6 games at homeKey Injuries:OAK — Returner Dwayne Harris injured his left ankle covering a punt in the second quarter and didn't return.MIN — No new injuries noted following week 2MORE: Follow the latest trends for Raiders vs. VikingsNew York Jets vs. New England PatriotsWhen: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 1 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: CBSOpening Spreads & Totals: Patriots -19/ 47Season Record: Jets (0-2) vs. Patriots (2-0-0)If the Patriots continue on the rich vein of form that they’re on right now, it’s hard to see any team stopping them. Perhaps, hand over the Lombardi Trophy now? The Patriots eviscerated the Steelers 33-3 in week 1, then they shutout the hapless Dolphins 43-0. That’s heady stuff – scoring 76 points and conceding just 3 in two games. Importantly, it was a team effort with both the offense and defense contributing to the score and the Patriots showing absolutely no mercy to Brian Flores or the Dolphins in every single second of the 60-minute triumph. No joy for Adam Gase or the NY Jets as they’re 0-2 SU to start the 2019 regular season, including a Monday Night Football defeat at home to the Cleveland Browns. In week 1, the Jets let a 16-point lead over the Bills at home carelessly slip through their fingers and they went on to lose 17-16. In week 2, they suffered an embarrassing 23-3 defeat to the Browns. In all likelihood this negative trend is going to spill forth into week 3 with a date at the Foxboro. One need only to look at the double-digit spread currently trading to get a sense of the magnitude of the task before the Gang Green against the defending champions. In a word, insurmountable. Key Night net Betting Trends:  — The total has gone UNDER in 5 of NY Jets' last 5 games vs Patriots— The total has gone OVER in 4 of NY Jets' last 6 games— Patriots are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games vs NY Jets— The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Patriots' last 5 games vs NY JetsKey Injuries: NE — Left tackle Isaiah Wynn left in the first half with a foot injuryNYJ — RB Le’Veon Bell is questionable with a shoulder injury MORE: Follow the latest trends for Jets vs. PatriotsDetroit Lions vs. Philadelphia EaglesWhen: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 1 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: FOXOpening Spreads & Totals: Eagles -9/ 49.5Season Record: Lions (1-0-1) vs. Eagles (1-1-0)The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-1-0 SU following a dispiriting 24-20 defeat to the Falcons on the road on Sunday Night Football. It marked their first defeat on the season, after a come-from-behind win over the Washington Redskins in week 1. Crucially, the Eagles have given Night net backers no joy in spread betting markets. They’re 0-2-0 ATS in 2019, which begs the question: why are they such massive home favourites for this week 3 clash? In fact, Night net betting trends reveal a slight move towards the Lions on the Night net odds board. Since opening the Eagles at -9, the Night net line has shortened to -6.5 with several sports betting outlets. The Lions got into the win column finally, beating preseason Super Bowl LIV contenders and favorites Los Angeles Chargers 13-10 at Ford Field. In week 1, the Lions fell slightly short of the mark with a tie against the Cardinals. Overall, the Lions have yet to lose in 2019 and they’re 1-1-0 ATS.Key Night net Betting Trends: — The total has gone OVER in 5 of Lions’ last 5 games vs Eagles— The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Lions’ last 9 games— The total has gone OVER in 5 of Eagles’ last 5 games vs Lions— Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs Lions at homeKey Injuries:PHI — TE Dallas Goedert sustained a calf injury, apparently in pregame in warmups.DET — OT Taylor Decker (back) and LB Jarrad Davis (ankle) were inactive.MORE: Follow the latest trends for Lions vs. EaglesCarolina Panthers vs. Arizona CardinalsWhen: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 4:05 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: FoxOpening Spreads & Totals: Panthers -3/ 45Season Record: Panthers (0-2-0) vs. Cardinals (1-0-1)Is it time to panic in Carolina? No, not yet. Yes, the Panthers are 0-2-0 SU to start the 2019 campaign, but the NFC South is up in the air and far from being decided. No team in the division has impressed. Of course, if the Panthers slip to an 0-3 SU start, things will start to look dicey. The Cardinals are coming off a defeat to the Ravens in week 2, in a game that saw Kliff Kingsbury flummoxed by Lamar Jackson and the Ravens offense. The Ravens beat the Cards through the air and the ground. That said, Kyler Murray is padding the stats very nicely. He’s fourth overall with 657 passing yards and 2 TDs and 1 INT through two games. The Panthers are laying -3 on the Night net odds board, which makes sense given the coaching stability and the experience of Cam Newton and the weapons that the Panthers have at their disposal. But the Panthers are 0-2-0 ATS through two games, which includes a -4.5-point average margin of defeat and a -7-point differential against the spread. Cardinals, by contrast, are 2-0-0 ATS with a -3-point average margin of defeat and a +4.0 differential against the spread.Key Night net Betting Trends:— The total has gone OVER in 4 of Panthers' last 5 games vs Cardinals— Panthers' are 10-3 SU in last 13 games vs Cardinals— The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cardinals' last 5 games vs Panthers— The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Cardinals' last 11 games at homeKey Injuries:CAR – None reported as of yetARI – RB David Johnson left in the first quarter with a wrist injury but returned shortly before halftime and scored a TD; LG Justin Pugh played despite being added to the injury report before the game (illness).MORE: Follow the latest trends for Panthers vs. CardinalsNew York Giants vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers When: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 4:05 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: FoxOpening Spreads & Totals: Bucs -7/ 49Season Record: Giants (0-2-0) vs. Buccaneers (1-1-0)The New York Giants are off to yet another disappointing 0-2 SU. It’s the sixth time since 2011 the G-men have failed to win a game through the first two weeks of the season. Not surprisingly, Eli Manning and the G-men were treated to raucous boos from their disgruntled fans following their loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. The problems with the G-men span the entire field and on both sides of the ball. Eli Manning has struggled on offense while the defense is more porous than Swiss cheese. It’s hard to see how they’ll turn things around if they continue leaking points.Jameis Winston had an interception-free outing and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first victory in 2019. It marked the first win for Bruce Arians and his coaching team. One win doesn’t a championship team make, nor does it mean Winston’s turnover woes are over. It’s way too early to be jumping on the bandwagon. These are two teams that still have a lot of issues to work through and growing pains to endure. It’s a tossup for Night net picks. Don’t fancy this Night net line one bit.Key Night net Betting Trends:— NY Giants are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games on the road— NY Giants are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games vs Bucs— The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Bucs’ last 8 games— The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Bucs’ last 7 games at homeKey Injuries:NYG — WR Cody Latimer (concussion) joined Sterling Shepard who is also in concussion protocol.TB — LB Devin White left the game in the first quarter with a knee injury and cornerback Jamel Dean suffered a lower leg injury in the third.MORE: Follow the latest trends for Giants vs. BuccaneersHouston Texans vs. Los Angeles ChargersWhen: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 4:25 p.m. ETTV Broadcast: CBSOpening Spreads & Totals: Chargers -3/ 48Season Record: Texans (1-1-0) vs. Chargers (1-1-0)Two AFC contenders coming off contrasting fortunes in week 2 collide in this late Sunday tilt. The Texans cracked the win column by edging the Jaguars 13-12 and the Chargers slipped to their first loss behind a 13-10 road defeat to the Lions. Texans will look to continue their winning form when they take on the Chargers in week 3 on the road but the odds makers aren’t having it, listing the Texans as the slight road underdogs. Remember this is the same team that lost a razor close game to the Saints in week 1 before grinding out the victory over the Jags. There might be concern about Deshaun Watson, who is a solid talent but is getting way too beaten up in his young career. In two games, he’s been sacked a whopping 10 times. That’s just not going to cut it in the long term. The Chargers, meanwhile, were guilty of underestimating the Lions in week 2, and countless opportunities to blow the match wide open slipped through their fingers only to come back and bite them. They got away with similar such complacency in week 1 against the Colts though. This isn’t a positive trend as far as the Chargers are concerned and it can prove to be their undoing against a team that grinds from game to game, just like the Texans do.Night net Betting Trends: — The total has gone OVER in 4 of Texans; last 5 games on the road— Texans are 12-4 SU in the last 16 games— LA Chargers are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 games vs Texans— LA Chargers are 5-1 SU in the last 6 games vs TexansKey Injuries:LAC — CB Michael Davis (hamstring) was inactive. Now that Big Ben is out for the entire season with an elbow injury that requires surgery, it’s really difficult to get the measure of the Steelers. Anticipate what sort of team they’re going to be under backup Mason Rudolph.Until more is seen from Rudolph and the Steelers, it’s probably best to tread carefully where the Steelers are concerned. At this point, it really does look like the Steelers’ campaign is in dire straits. On the flipside, the San Francisco 49ers are holding their own after starting their campaign with back-to-back road wins. Granted they didn’t face the Night net’s glitterati when they took on Tampa Bay and Cincinnati, but take nothing away from Jimmy G. and Co. Two road wins is nothing to scoff at.All things being considered, this game is correctly tipped with the Niners as the home chalk. Russell Wilson continues to prove his mettle. He persevered against a surprisingly tough Bengals team in week 1 and then lifted the Seahawks to victory on the road in Pittsburgh. Typically, the Seahawks round out into form late in the season. The 23-3 victory is great. Gets a pivotal W on the board. But will it have far reaching consequences? The Los Angeles Rams are in another league entirely, and they are sure to give us a measure of the Browns and whether they’re the real deal or not. Few Night net bettors are buying what the Bears are selling, which is evidenced by the Night net line moving against the Bears at early doors.Bookmakers went to press with the Bears laying -4.5 but (at the time of writing on Monday, September 16), a drop of at least a point is to be had with several top-rated sportsbooks. That’s telling, especially when considering the Redskins can’t seem to buy a win no matter how hard they try. Well, how hard Case Keenum is trying. The Redskins have come up short in back-to-back NFC East showdowns, losing first to the Eagles on the road and then to the Cowboys at home. Mainly the defense has let them down. Keenum has played rather well, boasting 5 TDs and no interceptions through two games. The Bears' defense will be a real test for Keenum as he attempts to clinch his first win for the Burgundy and Gold. But if Trubisky struggles, don’t count out the Redskins entirely. The defense can’t possibly win each and every game without the toll taking its course.Key Night net Betting Trends:— Redskins are 8-9-0 SU at home since 2017— Redskins are 4-7-0 SU and 5-6-0 ATS at home since 2017 as underdogs— Bears are 3-4-0 ATS as away faves since 2017— Bears are 6-11-0 in O/U on the road since 2017Key Injuries:CHI — DT Bilal Nichols suffered an injury in the third quarter. WAS — S Montae Nicholson (foot), TE Vernon Davis (eye), TE Jordan Reed (concussion), DL Jonathan Allen (knee), CB Quinton Dunbar (knee) and CB Fabian Moreau (ankle).MORE: Follow the latest trends for Bears vs. Redskins
